Welcome to
Bumby Breast Cancer Care Events...

This fundraising team was set up in memory of Lilian Bumby

Fundraising is such great fun!

We try and do a number of events each year and so far have raised lots of valuable pennies for research into combating this dreaded disease! Please help us do more....

**Changes to Breast Cancer Care....

Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now took the bold step forward to become one charity.

Becoming one charity
We’ll be known as Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We have chosen the name Breast Cancer Now because it brings urgency and attention to the cause and by looking at our logo you’ll be able to see that we can explain we’re a research and care charity and show that the caring support we provide is at the forefront alongside our world-class research – and always will be.

Your support is still so important to us
Breast cancer still has a devastating impact on our lives and we still need your support, now more than ever. I want to reassure you that you’ll still be able to fundraise and show your support in the same ways you always have.

**As you can see we are still able to continue with our amazing fundraising and it's all thanks to you for your continued support of our little family team...

Let's keep the money coming in but more importantly, let's keep raising awareness...

Thank you, as always,
Neville, Hazel and Mark

Lilian Bumby

1943 - 1990

Lilian was one of life's givers - from being a very special wife and mother, through to teaching in Sunday School and being an active member in the Boys' Brigade at the local Church, starting the Anchor Boy's and generally enjoying her life.

Throughout her illness and particularly in the two years before she died, she maintained a courage and dignity that was hard to believe.

Since 1990, great steps have been made in trying to combat this dreadful and unfair disease, but it remains a fact that every year around 60,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK: that’s the equivalent of one person every 10 minutes .

Men also suffer with it. Breast cancer in men is very rare, but around 370 men are diagnosed with the disease every year in the UK, and around 80 men die.

Whilst few can be directly active in everyday research and science, all of us are able to contribute to that research, either through direct donation or by giving your time to help us in our fundraising events.

There will come a time when this terrible disease will be beaten - your help can make that time come sooner rather than later, so that no more families will have to face the heartbreak and loss of that person that can never be forgotten or replaced.
